This unit is the Elven version of the strongest melee unit that dosen't have limits as to their numbers or duration. Note that it is weaker than the Maceman it replaces.
Civilopedia
The mace is a brutal weapon. It comes in myriad shapes and sizes: ball-and-chain, morning star, hammer, but they all serve one purpose: splitting skulls and breaking bones. Powerful and well-trained, Macemen are the shock troopers of the professional armies, scattering weaker melee troops before them. The Macemen are the kings of the Barbarian war bands, they are the most vicious, the most fearless and the most dangerous of the Barbarian units. On the few occasions when these lords of destruction do join together to plunder and burn outlying towns and occasionally even cities, they leave great tragedy and disaster in their wake.
Strategy Text
The strongest of the Tier 3 units, and a powerful city attacker when backed up with mages or siege equipment. Macemen require a Barracks and Iron to be trained and can be upgraded to Beserkers and Immortals.
