This unit is a Demonic variant of the one it replaces. The most major difference is that a Hell hound can't carry a Raven.
With their animal bonus hell hounds can kill most animals. Promoted with Combat I and then Subdue Animal, they can provide you with animals for your Carnival. Upgrading your hell hound's movement with the Mobility I and Mobility II are also good options, as he will also be able to protect your empire from goblins.
