You no longer need to deal with clumsy [[FfH Adept (Unit)|Adepts]] or mana nodes  in order to get summon spells, as [[FfH Ritualist (Unit)|Ritualists]] start with some of the better summons and a faster XP growth rate (thanks to Unholy Taint) right off the assembly line, and these spells only become more powerful as they upgrade to Inquisitors or High Priests.

This can be an effective way to recycle those pesky religious heroes (like Bambur or Hemah) which would normally abandon you upon switching to the Veil, but will follow you religiously once golem-ized (pun intended). Once you have your golem-makers, you can merge Ritualists with sorcery-wielding units like Mages or Archmages to create golems with access to all 3 branches of magic. Just be sure you have all the promotions you need beforehand; flesh golems, like their inorganic counterparts, can't gain promotions.

This works in tandem with the Soul Forge, so if you have it and an altar in the same city, you can sacrifice a high-XP unit for a lot of production and research all in one shot. I can get Mysticism to finish at a point where Education would require 50 more beakers. I build both the Elder Council and the Pagan Temple in that order (typically I can finish the Elder Council before I could otherwise finish Education). This nets me 5 extra beakers right off the bat per turn (2 from Elder Council, 3 from Sage). Then I set another as a Priest when I finish the Pagan Temple. This grants me 6+ (depending on Civilization tactically). So in a quick game I am 12 turns from a great person. I am researching Knowledge of the Ether. If I pop a Great Sage I save it for Corruption of Spirit, but if I pop a Great Prophet I burn it for Philosophy. Then move on the path as described.

This is a way to race for The Ashen Veil; the other alternative is to hold on Knowledge of the Ether until you get Exploration and/or Education , then you can pop a Great Sage for Knowledge of the Ether if you desire.
